Children
If your child is struggling emotionally, academically or socially, working with a child psychologist can help them overcome their challenges, while building life skills and resiliency in the process. I offer consultation to parents, to empower you to implement strategies to help your child directly, and to determine whether child therapy is indicated. Children gain most from therapy when there is a strong collaboration between their therapist and parents, and, when appropriate, family sessions.
With preschool children, I model verbal emotional expression and teach regulation skills, while using play therapy to help them express their feelings and work through their challenges. Older children benefit from play therapy, as well as role playing and counseling.
Adolescents
As a time of transition, adolescence is often accompanied by turmoil. Therapy is a safe place for adolescents to speak openly, feel accepted and understood, while gaining skills to help them understand and cope with difficult situations. I specialize in helping adolescents with college preparation, academic concerns, anxiety, depression, and improving interpersonal functioning.
Adults
I have had the privilege of helping adults facing a wide range of challenges, including social anxiety, relationship dynamics, parenting concerns, and coping with divorce. By integrating my extensive training in emotion-focused, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and interpersonal therapy, I provide tailored and flexible treatment that addresses each client’s unique needs and goals.
Teletherapy
Teletherapy allows clients the convenience and flexibility of receiving high-quality services from their home, office, or other private location, through HIPPA-compliant, encrypted and secure video conferencing. This option can be especially helpful to clients are unable to attend in-person therapy sessions due to health or physical limitations, location and commuting difficulties, scheduling constraints, and other circumstances. Teletherapy is not appropriate for everyone, especially clients struggling with severe symptoms and certain mental health diagnoses who may require in-person services or a higher level of care to ensure safety.
Supervision and Consultation
I offer individual clinical supervision to mental health professionals working towards Colorado and New York state licensure and to clinicians post licensure who are seeking additional support and consultation. I use an integrative, multicultural and collaborative approach to support supervisee development and work toward the best interest of clinicians and their clients.
